The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ J.L. King Instrument Ribbon Cutting — The Pilot Club of Starkville will host a ribbon cutting ceremony at J. L. King Memorial Park for new playground instruments Nov. 5, at 2 p.m. The free event is open to the public and will include a demonstration of the instruments by MSU's Dr. Bob Damm and a Brain Minders Puppet Show
