The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Donations for Homeless Students — Starkville Oktibbeha School District’s Project HELP is seeking donations of hygiene supplies, school supplies, school uniforms (new or used in good condition), socks and undergarments for homeless students. ◆ Starkville Community Blood Drive — Mississippi Blood Services will host Starkville Community Blood drive from noon-6 p.m. Nov. 20 at Vowell’s parking lot. ◆ Peter’s Rock Church — Peter’s Rock Temple Church Of God In Christ is hosting Special Thanksgiving Day service, along with Annual Community Thanksgiving Turkey Give Away on Wednesday, November 22 at 12 noon. It will begin with a special Thanksgiving Day message from Superintendent Joseph Hawkins. The Turkey Give Away is free and opened to the public. We will enjoy music by Mozart (Piano Concerto 21 in C Major) and Cherubini’s Requiem In C Minor. Barry Kopetz will conduct and Gary Packwood will conduct the MSU State Singers and Symphony Chorus
