◆ Starkville Tour of Homes — The 2017 Starkville Tour of Homes will be from 1 p.m. -5 p.m. Dec. 3 with an ongoing reception from 1 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Starkville Public Library. ◆ Protecting the Flock church seminar — There will be a FREE “Protecting The Flock” church security seminar held at First Baptist Church Louisville, MS on Dec. 11 and Dec. 12 from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. each night. Jimmy Meeks of Sheepdog Safety Training will conduct this seiminar. Jimmy is a 44 year minister, a 35 year police officer based out of Texas. Jimmy will instruct church members and staff on methods of preventing attacks on churches and keeping members safe. The same seminar will be conducted each night to enable people choose which night is best to attend. This seminar is sponsored by the Margaret Lackey State Missions Offering and area churches. ◆MSU Library Opening Ceremony — The opening ceremony for the Ulysses S. Grant Presidenti­al Library and Frank and Virginia Williams collection of Lincolnian­a will be 2 p.m. Nov. 30 at the fourth floor of the Mitchell Memorial Library with a reception to follow. Free parking will be available behind the Longest Student Health Center.

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the ParkerMcGi­ll staff

◆ Christmas Craft and Bake Sale — Mathiston First United Methodist Churh will host a Christmas craft and bake sale 8 a.m. until noon Dec. 2 in the Family Life Center. Proceeds will go to United Methodist Women Mission projects.

◆ OCHS Open House— Oktibbeha County Humane Society will host its annual holiday open house from 1-3 p.m. on Dec. 2. Meet the OCHS board, staff and adoptable pets, and have your picture taken with MSU mascot Bully. Located at 510 Industrial Park Rd.

◆ Pups Night Out— Oktibbeha County Humane Society will host a screening of the Secret Life of Pets from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 2 at McKee Park. Pop Porium will be selling popcorn. Dogs must be on a leash.

◆ Clothes for Christ — Double Springs Baptist Church “Clothes for Christ” will be held from 8 a.m. - noon Dec. 2, located on Maben-Sturgis Rd. Free clothes and other items for the needy.

◆ Sturgis Community Christmas— The thrid annual Surgis Community Christmas will be from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at Sturgis park. It will feature food, entertainm­ent, face painting, games and more. Donations go toward park renovation and the fire department.
