◆Frank and Virginia Williams Lecture— The Frank and Virginia Williams Lecture on Abraham Lincoln and Civil War Studies with guest speaker Harold Holzer, Jonathan F. Fanton Director, Roosevelt House Public Policy Institute at Hunter College, will be 10 a.m. Nov. 30 at Turner A. Wingo Auditorium, Old Main Academic Center, 260 Barr Avenue, MSU. ◆AARP — The Starkville AARP chapter # 165 will hold its annual Christmas Banquet on Dec. 7, at 11:00 a.m. in the Veranda Restaurant. ◆Nox◆bee Nature Series — The program will be held Thursday December 7 at 6:30 in the Refuge Visitor Center. Dr. Guiming Wang will report on turkey research at MSU. The public is invited.

◆Shiitake Mushroom growing class — Alcorn State presents a Shiitake Mushroom-growing class 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Dec. 7; participan­ts must bring 5 logs cut 3 days prior with a min. diameter of 4” and a maximum diameter of 6”; to be held at the American Legion Post 3328 Pat Station Rd.

◆FBC Columbus First Christmas — Volunteers from FBC Columbus will build and present the “First Christmas” from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 8-10 at the Shops of Brickerton. The replica of the first Christmas in Bethleham is free and open to the public.

◆La Leche League of Starkville/Columbus — The La Leche League of Starkville/Columbus will host a family potluck to discuss family nutrition and weaning at 6 p.m. Dec. 8 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
