AROUND TOWN ANNOUNCEMENT POLICIES
The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run in Around Town on Sundays only. One-time events will run as usual in Around Town Monday through Friday.
◆ Starkville Area Rust Club—The Starkville Area Rust Club meets each second Sunday of the month at 4 p.m. at Griffin United Methodist Church. For more information, call 323-7920.
◆ Unlimited Community Agricultural Cooperative— UCAC meets every fourth Saturday of the month at American Legion Post #240, on Pat Station Road. The purpose of UCAC is to keep small farmers and landowners informed of the opportunities available to help their enterprises.
◆ ICS Pre-School Recruitment—Parents interested in information concerning the application process for enrollment at the Institute of Community Services (ICS) HeadStart can call 662-252-1582 ext 149. There are no fees for families enrolling their children in HeadStart.
◆ Mother’s Morning Out—Little Hearts Learning Center will host Mother's Morning Out on Saturdays from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Breakfast and a snack is included. Enrollment is open at this time. For more information call 323-5682 and ask for Danielle.
◆ Life in Your Years—The “Life in Your Years” is a free group for adults presented by Christian Changes Counseling and Recovery Center. ◆ Oktibbeha County Conservative Coalition—The Oktibbeha County Conservative Coalition will meet each first Monday of the month at 7 p.m. at McAlister's “Coach's Corner.” The Conservative Coalition is open to all conservatives who want to make a difference, beginning right here in our county.
◆ Help for Homeless Students—Project HELP assists students in the Starkville Oktibbeha School District by providing school uniforms, school supplies, personal hygiene items, and other supports as needed. ◆ Cow Tales—The Chick-fil-A on Hwy 12 holds Cow Tales at 9 a.m. every Thursday. There are stories, activities, and crafts for kids six and under. The event is free.
◆ BrainMinders Puppet Show—Starkville Pilot Club offers a BrainMinders Puppet Show for groups of 25 or fewer children. The show lasts 15 minutes and teaches children about head/brain safety.
