◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff

◆ Austin COCUSA— Sessums Community presents the “Strive to Survive” Event on Dec. 16, 2 at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. There will be sessions on living a healthy life, learning about risk prevention, how to read the bible effectivel­y, minor maintenanc­e on your car, minor paint jobs, cleaning hardwood and carpet floors, gardening & lawn beautifica­tion, and minor upholstery. Attendees will receive a survival kit (while supplies last) to include an item from each presentati­on. Ther will be free food, and fun games for the children. ◆Pancake Breakfast with Santa — Pilot Club of Starkville will host Pancake Breakfast with Santa at 7:30-9:30 a.m. Dec. 16 at Applebees. $6 at the door or from any Pilot Club member.Dine in only.

◆Pancake Breakfast with Santa - Mt. Peiler Church Family Annual Banquet will be Dec.16 at the Hilton Garden Inn at 6:00 p.m. All members are free. If you invite a guest, we’re asking $25.00 donation per person.

◆ St. Matthew’s Temple COGIC Pastoral Anniversar­y — The St. Matthews Temple COGIC of West Point will celebrate their Pastor Roosevelt and wife Brenda Williams 22nd pastoral Anniversar­y on Dec. 3 at 3:00 p.m. The speaker is Chairman Michael Hickmon of Clarksdale. He serves as Pastor of Abundant Harvest COGIC in Charleston, MS and Chairman of USAC for the Northern MS Jurisdicti­on COGIC. The public is invited to attend.

◆ Advent Lessons and Carols Service — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on will have their annual Advent Lessons and Carols service on Dec. 3 at 6 p.m.. Lessons from scripture and music from the choir will be presented. This event is a great way to usher in Advent in anticipati­on of the coming of Christ. Members, families, and friends are invited to this special service. Childcare will be provided. There will be no Taizé service in December.

◆ FBC Columbus First Christmas— Volunteers from FBC Columbus will build and present the “First Christmas” from 6-8 p.m. Dec. 8-10 at the Shops of Brickerton. The replica of the first Christmas in Bethleham is free and open to the public.

◆ Walking Trail—Adaton United Methodist Church has establishe­d a quarter-mile walking/jogging trail near the church, located at 303 Reed Road., West-Starkville. The path is accessible daily from dawn to dusk. No pets or wheeled vehicles allowed on the trail

◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize—Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candleligh­t, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes

◆ Starkville Healing Rooms—Starkville Healing Rooms meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Sportsplex. It provide a loving, safe and confidenti­al environmen­t where you can come to receive prayer for physical healing. No appoinment necessary.
