The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Donations for Homeless Students — Starkville Oktibbeha School District’s Project HELP is seeking donations of hygiene supplies, school supplies, school uniforms (new or used in good condition), socks and undergarments for homeless students. ◆ Adult Education Classes — Ages 16 and Older, Earn your High School Equivalency, MondayThursday from 8 a.m. - noon at the J.L. King Center. Tempe O’ Nan will be the Instructor at JL King and Laura Thurmond and Jean Ann Foxworth will be the Instructor for Emerson
◆ Work Keys Info Session and Practice — Ages 16 and Older, Key to Finding Gainful Employment on Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Emerson Family School
◆ Afterschool Clubs — Art, Fitness, Life Skills, Homework Help, Literacy clubs will meet MondayThursday from 3:30 p.m.-5:30 p.m. at the J.L. King Center
◆ Tutoring — Emerson Family School will host tutoring for students Monday-Thursday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Mississippi State Students will be the facilitators

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The First Presbyterian Church a casserole kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m.

◆ On the Grill at ParkerMcGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff
