◆ Friends of the Library book sale — The Starkville Public Library's Friends of the Library monthly book sale will be Jan. 8 from noon - 6 p.m. The fiction and nonfiction books in both hardcover and paperback, children's books, vintage books, and reference are all available at nominal prices, with most books priced at 50 cents to $3.

◆ Toastmaste­rs — Toastmaste­rs meets every Tuesday from 6-7:00 pm in the Conference Room on the first floor of the Sportsplex. Toastmaste­rs is a club that helps members improve their public speaking and leadership skills in a positive atmosphere. Come join us.

◆Kiwanis— Kiwanis will meet at noon Jan. 9 at Hilton Garden Inn. Guest speaker will be Lynn Sruill, Mayor of Starkville. Guests are welcome.

◆American Legion Post #13 — American Legion Post #13 will hold its monthly meeting on Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. at the American Legion Building on Old West Point Road.
