◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employabil­ity Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆ CWJC Training — Christian Women's Job Corps, Golden Triangle is offering job and life skills training in classes Jan. 23 through April. ◆ SPL Discussion of the “Inferno”— On Jan. 16 at 4 p.m. at the Starkville Public Library, Dr. Nancy Hargrove will lead a discussion of Cantos 1-11 of Dante's “Inferno.” Participan­ts should read those cantos along with the short intros and notes for each in Ciardi's translatio­n published by Signet Classics.

◆ Starkville Newcomers and Friends— The club will meet meet in the Mississipp­i Room of Cadence Bank on Main Street at 10:30 a. m. on Jan. 16. The speaker will be Carol Brown of the Book Mart who will demonstrat­e “Chair Exercises”.
