MSU Choral Activities office associate Cathy Evans said the performance was in conjunction with the Mississippi Voice Symposium and Institute that will take place Jan. 19 and Jan. 20.
“We have an annual Mississippi Voice Symposium and Institute, and it’s for students to attend.” Evans said. “Lisette and other guest speakers will attend. We have master tickets cost classes for the music students they attend throughout the weekend, and Saturday they even have a yoga class they can go to.”
Evans said while the Mississippi Voice Symposium and Institute is for students, the concert Friday night is open to the public to attend.
In part one of the performance, students Daniel Joyner, Payton Tanner, Jeonai Batista, Haylee Glenn, Corinne Reece and William Tiffin will perform works from Charles Gounod, Carlisle Floyd, Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Sergei Rachmaninoff and Giancomo Puccini.
In part two of the performance, Liesette Oropesa will perform with accompaniment by pianist Christy Lee.
