The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews. com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employability Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆Jacket Job Fair — The Starkville Oktibbeha School District will hosts its first ever job fair to recruit teachers for all grades and disciplines for the 2018-19 school year. The Jacket Job Fair will be held Feb.12, from 4 until 6 pm at Sudduth Elementary School.

◆West Elementary School Open House— West Elementary School will host Open House on Feb. 6, for families and students who are planning to attend West Elementary School in grades K – 5 for the 2018-19 school year. Open House offers families the opportunity to meet teachers, visit classrooms, explore curriculum, and learn about technology.

◆Emerson School Childbirth Classes— Emerson School will host free childbirth classes 5:3-7:30 p.m. on Feb. 13 (Pregnancy and Childbirth with Havilah Couvillion, RN, MSN), 20 (Relaxation Techniques Labor & Delivery with Havilah Couvillion, RN, MSN), 27 (Infant and Child Care with Katie Buys, DNP, FNP, MHP) and March 6 (Nutrition for Mother and Baby with Jacqueline Hodges, MS, RDN, LD). ◆Golden Triangle Civil War Round Table— The Golden Triangle Civil War Round Table will meet at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 in the Conference Room, 106 Miley Road.
