In Sunday’s coverage of the Starkville Lady Yellowjackets winning the Class 6A State girls basketball championship, it was reported in several places that it was only Starkville High School’s third state title in girls basketball. That is not the case.

Along with state championships in 1992, 2017 and now 2018, SHS also won titles in 1968 and 1970 under coach Sam Parker.

The Starkville Daily News apologizes for this oversight and any confusion this may have given our readers. High School Basketball
