The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Donations for Homeless Students — Starkville Oktibbeha School District's Project HELP is seeking donations of hygiene supplies, school supplies, school uniforms (new or used in good condition), socks and undergarments for homeless students. ◆ Everything Garden Expo — Everything Garden Expo will feature 10 noted speakers, a wide variety of garden related vendors, children's program, and more.Hours are 7:45 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Saturday March 24th and 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday March 25th at the Mississippi Horse Park. ◆ Hometown Hero Nominations — Modern Woodmen is seeking nominations of Hometown Heroes in Starkville and Oktibbeha County - individuals who go out of their way to do for others either in their line of work or as a volunteer. ◆”The In-Laws” Stageplay— Alexander the Great Protductions will present “The InLaws” at 7:30 p.m. April 13 and 15 at the Sportsplex. The play is family-friendly, and tickets cost $10 for adults, $3 for children, and $5 for students, senior citizens and military/veterans.

◆ Rotary — The Starkville Rotary Club meets at 11:45 a.m. at the Starkville Country Club
◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employability Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆ Adult Literacy/GED/Diploma classes — Earn your High School Equivalency for ages 16 and older on Monday - Thursday 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center, 700 Long Street. Tempe O'Nan will be the Instructor.
◆ Anger Management classes — Anger management classes will be Mondays 9:30 A.M.-11:00 P.M at the Golden Triangle Planning and Development. Gayle Glenn will be the Facilitator.
◆ Work Keys Info Session and Practice — Key To Finding Gainful Employment for ages 16 and Older on Monday-Thursday 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center. Tempe O'Nan will be the Facilitator.
◆ Family Life Skills Training — Laundry Love Ladies on Mondays at 10:00 A.M.12:00 P.M.at the J.L. King Center. Cindy Melby will be the Facilitator.
◆ Grandparents Raising Grandchildren — Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program will be every Monday at 10:30-11 a.m. at Emerson Family Care Center.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The First Presbyterian Church a casserole kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m.
◆ CWJC Training — Christian Women's Job Corps, Golden Triangle is offering job and life skills training in classes Jan. 23 through April. This free faith-based program provides instruction in basic computer skills, communications, resume' writing, interview preparation, money management, Bible study and much more. ◆Sports Talk Charity Fundraiser— The Boys & Girls Clubs of The Golden Triangle's annual Sports Talk Charity Fundraiser is set for March 29 at The Bryan Building at MSU. ◆Starkville Newcomers and Friends— The Starkville Newcomers' & Friends meeting will be March 20, 2018 at 11:00 a. m. in the private room at Lost Pizza. The speaker will be Leslee Baker from the Political Science Department at Mississippi State University. All from the Starkville area are welcome to join us.
◆MSU Retired Faculty Meeting— Mississippi State Director of Athletics John Cohen will be the featured speaker the March 20, meeting of the MSU Association of Retired Faculty. The ARF spring meeting will be 2:30 p.m. in the Old Main Academic Center on the corner of Barr Ave. and George Perry Blvd. in the central MSU campus. Pay-per-use public parking is available in the lower level of the new facility. Membership in ARF is open to retired faculty and professional staff of Mississippi State.
