The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Hometown Hero Nomination­s — Modern Woodmen is seeking nomination­s of Hometown Heroes in Starkville and Oktibbeha County - individual­s who go out of their way to do for others either in their line of work or as a volunteer. ◆”The In-Laws” Stageplay— Alexander the Great Protductio­ns will present “The InLaws” at 7:30 p.m. April 13 and 15 at the Sportsplex. The play is family-friendly, and tickets cost $10 for adults, $3 for children, and $5 for students, senior citizens and military/veterans.

◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employabil­ity Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training.
