Golf event to benefit MUW athletics

The Lion Hills Center and Golf Club in Columbus will play host to the Owls Athletics Golf Outing in May hosted by the Mississippi University for Women.

The event is slated for Friday, May 18 and will begin with registration and brunch at 10:30 a.m.

The driving range will open at 10:30 a.m. and the practice green will open at 11 a.m.

Tee time is set for 12 p.m. and dinner will begin at 5 p.m. Participants will receive a gift package upon registration. The event will be an 18-hole scramble format. Soft spike golf shoes and collared shirts will be required.

Food and beverages will also be provided, along with prizes and raffles throughout the day.

Sponsorships for the outing range from $5,000 for an event sponsorship to $125 for a tee sponsor.

Sponsors for the event also include Renasant Bank, Visit Columbus, BankFirst and Adidas. Apparel sponsor for the event is Starkville-based Rex Team Sports.

MUW currently offers 10 sports with over 100 studentathletes, coaches and administrators.
