The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. Onetime events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Donations for Homeless Students — Starkville Oktibbeha School District's Project HELP is seeking donations of hygiene supplies, school supplies, school uniforms (new or used in good condition), socks and undergarme­nts for homeless students. ◆”The In-Laws” Stageplay— Alexander the Great Protductio­ns will present “The In-Laws” at 7:30 p.m. April 13 and 15 at the Sportsplex. The play is familyfrie­ndly, and tickets cost $10 for adults, $3 for children, and $5 for students, senior citizens and military/veterans.

◆Starkville-MSU Symphony Chorus Concert—The Starkville – MSU Symphony chorus will present a spring concert on April 15 at 2:30 p.m. at Trinity Presbyteri­an Church. Included in the program will be guest soloist singing excerpts from Broadway musicals. The event will be fun for the whole family and free to the public. Conductor will be Dr. Doug Browning assisted by James Allen.

◆ Rotary — The Starkville Rotary Club meets at 11:45 a.m. at the Starkville Country Club

◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employabil­ity Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. We offer free test vouchers and other incentives for qualifying students. Classes are offered Monday- Thursday in morning, afternoon, or evening. PLEASE CALL 662-243-1985 for more informatio­n.

◆ Adult Literacy/GED/Diploma classes — Earn your High School Equivalenc­y for ages 16 and older on Monday - Thursday 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center, 700 Long Street. Tempe O'Nan will be the Instructor.

◆ Anger Management classes — Anger management classes will be Mondays 9:30 A.M.-11:00 P.M at the Golden Triangle Planning and Developmen­t. Gayle Glenn will be the Facilitato­r.

◆ Work Keys Info Session and Practice — Key To Finding Gainful Employment for ages 16 and Older on Monday-Thursday 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center. Tempe O'Nan will be the Facilitato­r.

◆ Family Life Skills Training — Laundry Love Ladies on Mondays at 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.at the J.L. King Center. Cindy Melby will be the Facilitato­r.

◆ Grandparen­ts Raising Grandchild­ren — Grandparen­ts Raising Grandchild­ren program will be every Monday at 10:30-11 a.m. at Emerson Family Care Center.

◆Comp◆ter classes— Computer classes will be Mondays from 1:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M. at the J.L. King Center. Hakran Kim will be the Facilitato­r.

◆ Oktibbeha County Republican­s— The Oktibbeha County Republican­s will host a forum for all six Republican candidates for the third congressio­nal district race at 6 p.m. in the Oktibbeha County Chancery Courtroom. The forum is open to the public.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The First Presbyteri­an Church a casserole kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m.

◆Healthy Living Classes— Healthy Living classes will be on Tuesdays from 10:45 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Emerson Family School. Gayle Glenn will be the Facilitato­r.

◆Active Parenting Classes— Active Parenting classes will be every Tuesday at 11 a.m.-noon at Emerson Family Center. Darlene Hinton will be the facilitato­r.

◆SHS Class of 1983 Reuinion— The deadline to register for the Starkville High School Class of 1983 reunion is May 1. The reunion will be June 15-17. For registrati­on informatio­n please email Sandy Maynard at stmayn@bellsouth.net.

◆Golden Triangle Civil War Round Table— The Golden Triangle Civil War Round Table meets at 7 p.m. April 10 at 106 Miley Rd. Terry Winschel, 35-year veteran of the National Parks Service will discuss “I Am Too Late: Joseph E. Johnston and the Fall of Vicksburg.” Visitors welcome.

◆Starkville Kiwanis— Kiwanis will meet April 10 at the Hilton Garden Inn at noon. Our speaker will Brooke Minton from Community Couseling/ Transition Programs. Guest are welcome.

◆ Student Playwritin­g, Directing, Acting Showcase— Honors Seminar in Fine Arts students present Student Playwritin­g, Directing, Acting Showcase April 17 at 7 p.m. in Griffis Forum Room. Free admission.
