Music Maker Productions presents Old Main Music Festival

Music Maker Productions presents the return of Old Main Music Festival on Friday, beginning at 2 p.m. at the MSU Amphitheater on the campus of Mississippi State University.
Old Main Music Festival will include a full day of both local and national musicians, outdoor games and activities, an art market, and food vendors. The Art Market will begin at 2 p.m. and food trucks will begin serving at 3 p.m.
“We are extremely excited with the turnout of our art market vendors,” MMP Publicity Chair Bailey Berry said. “We have about 20 regional and local artists coming out to sell their art — you’ll be able to find anything from custom T-shirts to drawings and paintings.”
Local acts will begin at 2:30 p.m. and the Main Stage will kick off at 6:30 p.m., opening with LV Baby, Rayland Baxter, and concluding with headliner St. Paul & the Broken Bones.
“Our day stage consists of seven local and regional musicians,” Berry said. “They are all extremely talented, and it’ll be exciting to see some local musicians give back to their community.”
St. Paul & The Broken Bones is a soul-based rock octet based in Birmingham, Alabama. The eight-piece ensemble brought soul, funk, R&B, and rock together with the release of sophomore album “Sea of Noise” in 2016 under the young label RECORDS. St. Paul & the Broken Bones have accomplished large-scale tours in North America and Europe and have opened for the Rolling Stones.
Singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist Rayland Baxter is an alt-country musician based in Nashville. After the release of his first album “Feathers & FishHooks” in 2012, Baxter signed with ATO Records and shortly commenced on a tour. Baxter released his second album “Imaginary Man” in 2015, merging pop, indie, and gospel all into one. Baxter has toured alongside many musicians such as Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
LV Baby, an Atlanta-based artist, is part of an eclectic fourmember group known as We Were Here. The four-member ensemble have blended their rock, soul, hip-hop, and jazz sounds into a genre they coin as “the fuse.” LV Baby released his first album “Smallville” in 2015, and his 2017 single “Super Powers” featuring Pell has generated significant interest from fans and followers. LV Baby made an appearance on Music Maker Presents in 2017.
“We’re bringing LV Baby back to his college town to kick off as he kicks off the Main Stage at 6:30 p.m.” Berry said. “Rayland Baxter will follow after with his infamous indie energy. Finally, St. Paul and the Broken Bones will take the stage at 8:30 p.m. and provide us with a vibrant, energetic and soulful set as they headline the 2018 Old Main Music Festival.”
Multiple day stages will feature local artists beginning at 2:30 p.m. and conclude prior to the 6:30 p.m. start of the Main Stage. Food trucks and the Art Market will be offered until 7 p.m..
