The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Donations for Homeless Students — Starkville Oktibbeha School District’s Project HELP is seeking donations of hygiene supplies, school supplies, school uniforms (new or used in good condition), socks and undergarments for homeless students. ◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employability Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆ Work Keys Info Session and Practice — Key To Finding Gainful Employment for ages 16 and Older on Monday-Thursday 8:00 A.M.12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center. Tempe O’Nan will be the Facilitator.
◆ Family Life Skills Training — Laundry Love Ladies on Mondays at 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.at the J.L. King Center. Cindy Melby will be the Facilitator.
◆ Grandparents Raising Grandchildren — Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program will be every Monday at 10:30-11 a.m. at Emerson Family Care Center.
◆Comp◆ter classes— Computer classes will be Mondays from 1:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M. at the J.L. King Center. Hakran Kim will be the Facilitator.
◆Links Scholarship Application— Columbus-Lowndes Chapter of the Links scholarship application for graduating high school seniors are available. Deadline extended to April 30. For information call 662-312-2484.

OCTS/HHS Scholarship Applications — The Oktibbeha County Training School/Henderson High School Scholarship applications are due. It is open to high school seniors in the SOCSD planning to further their education beyond high school. ◆ Emerson and J.L. King Events — Emerson Family School and the J.L. King Center is hosting events Monday through Thursday. These events include Adult Education Classes, Work Keys Info Session and Practice, Afterschool Clubs, Tutoring and Computer Classes. Details are listed under “Monday”
◆Parent Cafe — Emerson Family School will host Parent Cafe “Parental Resilience” April 19 and 26 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Tammie Tubbs will be the facilitator.
◆NARFE Meeting — The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) will meet April 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn on Highway 12 East in Starkville. Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch is served at 11:30. The guest speaker will be Kim Vance, Vice-President of Pondera Financial Group in Ridgeland. All active and retired Federal employees are encouraged to attend the meeting and invited to join the NARFE Chapter.
