The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. ◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employabil­ity Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. OCTS/HHS Scholarshi­p Applicatio­ns — The Oktibbeha County Training School/Henderson High School Scholarshi­p applicatio­ns are due. It is open to high school seniors in the SOCSD planning to further their education beyond high school. ◆Parent Cafe — Emerson Family School will host Parent Cafe “Parental Resilience” April 19 and 26 from 6 p.m. - 7 p.m. Tammie Tubbs will be the facilitato­r.

◆NARFE Meeting — The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Associatio­n (NARFE) will meet April 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn on Highway 12 East in Starkville. Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch is served at 11:30. The guest speaker will be Kim Vance, Vice-President of Pondera Financial Group in Ridgeland. All active and retired Federal employees are encouraged to attend the meeting and invited to join the NARFE Chapter.
