AROUND TOWN ANNOUNCEMENT POLICIES
The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The First Presbyterian Church a casserole kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m.
◆Healthy Living Classes— Healthy Living classes will be on Tuesdays from 10:45 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Emerson Family School. Gayle Glenn will be the Facilitator.
◆Active Parenting Classes— Active Parenting classes will be every Tuesday at 11 a.m.-noon at Emerson Family Center. Darlene Hinton will be the facilitator.
◆SHS Class of 1983 Reuinion— The deadline to register for the Starkville High School Class of 1983 reunion is May 1. The reunion will be June 15-17. For registration information please email Sandy Maynard at stmayn@bellsouth.net.
◆Starkville Kiwanis— Starkville Kiwanis Club will meet May 1 at noon at The Hilton Garden Inn . Our speaker will be Leanne Williamson from Christian World Missions. Guest are welcome. or contact Robert Bishop at 617-5049 or rb1901@bellsouth.org. Deadline is April 25.

◆NARFE Meeting — The National Active & Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE) will meet April 26 at the Hilton Garden Inn on Highway 12 East in Starkville. Doors open at 11 a.m. and lunch is served at 11:30. The guest speaker will be Kim Vance, Vice-President of Pondera Financial Group in Ridgeland. All active and retired Federal employees are encouraged to attend the meeting and invited to join the NARFE Chapter.
◆AARP — The Starkville Chapter #165 of AARP will hold its next monthly meeting on May 3 at 10 a.m. in the Mississippi Room of Cadence Bank on Main Street. The program speaker is Scott Maynard, CEO of the Greater Starkville Development Partnership. Please enter the Bank Building through the back parking lot doors. ◆ Bark-B-Que! The Little Dooey at 100 Fellowship Street is hosting a fundraiser on Thursday, May 3. Oktibbeha County Humane Society will receive $1 from every large BBQ combo sold. Available for dine in or carry out!
◆ The Starkville Town and Country Garden Club will meet on May 3 at the home of Glenda Clark. Members will tour the grounds and gardens of the Clark home. ◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employability Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training.
