Becky was born January 18, 1954 in Starkville, MS to William Robert and Marguerite Williams Bland. Becky's childhood was spent in Cumberland and Water Valley, MS. Her family moved to Batesville, MS in 1967. Becky graduated high school from South Panola High School in 1972 in Batesville, MS. She attended Northwest Jr. College and received a degree in Art Education from Mississippi State University. She taught Art in Starkville and Oxford Public Schools for twenty-seven years. Becky was named “Teacher of the Year” at both Starkville and Oxford High Schools during her career.

Becky married Danny Ray McKittrick on May 17, 1975. She was a true soul-mate and was devoted to him. Becky frequently toasted at weddings by saying, “Being married to Danny McKittrick, is like being on a permanent vacation”.

Becky was multi-talented, excelling in art and homemaking, but not cooking. She cut hay, had her own chain saw, and loved working outside. Her love of animals was obvious to everyone that knew her. She never left a turtle crossing the road, and rescued every stray, much to her husband's dismay. Early in their marriage, the couple ran a group home for abused and neglected children in Jackson, MS.

Becky is survived by her husband of forty-two years, Danny Ray McKittrick of Oxford, MS; mother and step-father, Marguerite Williams Miles and Jim Miles of Maben, MS; two brothers, Billy “Bubba” Bland (Beth) of Maben, MS, Jim Kelly Miles (Stephanie) of Batesville, MS and several nieces and nephews.

Becky was preceded in death by her father, William Robert Bland; grandparents, Henry and Grace Williams of Maben, MS and W. Charles and Marbeth Bland of Cumberland, MS.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made in memory of Becky to the Palmer Home for Children, P.O. Box 746, Columbus, MS 39703.
