The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Rotary — The Starkville Rotary Club meets at 11:45 a.m. at the Starkville Country Club

◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employabil­ity Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆ Adult Literacy/GED/Diploma classes — Earn your High School Equivalenc­y for ages 16 and older on Monday - Thursday 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center, 700 Long Street. Tempe O'Nan will be the Instructor.

◆ Anger Management classes — Anger management classes will be Mondays 9:30 A.M.-11:00 P.M at the Golden Triangle Planning and Developmen­t. Gayle Glenn will be the Facilitato­r.

◆ Work Keys Info Session and Practice — Key To Finding Gainful Employment for ages 16 and Older on Monday-Thursday 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center. Tempe O'Nan will be the Facilitato­r.

◆ Family Life Skills Training — Laundry Love Ladies on Mondays at 10:00 A.M.12:00 P.M.at the J.L. King Center. Cindy Melby will be the Facilitato­r.

◆ Grandparen­ts Raising Grandchild­ren — Grandparen­ts Raising Grandchild­ren program will be every Monday at 10:30-11 a.m. at Emerson Family Care Center.

◆Comp◆ter classes— Computer classes will be Mondays from 1:30 P.M.-2:30 P.M. at the J.L. King Center. Hakran Kim will be the Facilitato­r.

◆Starkville Duplicate Bridge— Starkville Duplicate Bridge, 12:30 on Monday. ACBL sanctioned game. St. Luke Lutheran Church, 704 S. Louisville Street. All level of players welcome. Questions, 662-425-0075.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The First Presbyteri­an Church a casserole kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m.

◆Healthy Living Classes— Healthy Living classes will be on Tuesdays from 10:45 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Emerson Family School. Gayle Glenn will be the Facilitato­r.

◆Active Parenting Classes— Active Parenting classes will be every Tuesday at 11 a.m.-noon at Emerson Family Center. Darlene Hinton will be the facilitato­r.

◆Starkville Kiwanis— Starkville Kiwanis will meet Tuesday May 15 at noon at the Hilton Garden Inn. The speaker will be Ellen Goodman - Excel by 5. Guess are welcome.

◆Starkville Newcomers and Friends— Starkville Newcomers' & Friends May meeting will be at Harvey's Restaurant at 11 a.m. on May 15. New officers for 2018-19 will be installed, recently departed member Faye Caldwell will be honored, and the program will be “Daylilies at the Creek” presented by Hellen Polk. All members and prospectiv­e members are encouraged to RSVP to Mary Martha Wilson at 662-418-5114 by this Wednesday night, 8 p.m.

◆ OCTS/HHS Scholarshi­p Applicatio­ns — The Oktibbeha County Training School/Henderson High School Scholarshi­p applicatio­ns are due. It is open to high school seniors in the SOCSD planning to further their education beyond high school. ◆ Emerson and J.L. King Events — Emerson Family School and the J.L. King Center is hosting events Monday through Thursday. These events include Adult Education Classes, Work Keys Info Session and Practice, Afterschoo­l Clubs, Tutoring and Computer Classes. Details are listed under “Monday”

◆ESL Classes— Emerson Family School will give English as a Second Language classes every Friday at 8 a.m. - 9 a.m. Ha Nguyen will be the facilitato­r.

Saturday

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff

◆Company Reunion - American Bosch, AMBAC, United Technologi­es, Johnson Electric and former employers to have a reunion and lunch, beginning 10:30 until 1 p.m. June 2 at Ranch House Diner at 807 Alabama St., Columbus.
