AROUND TOWN ANNOUNCEMENT POLICIES
The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run in Around Town on Sundays only. One-time events will run as usual in Around Town Monday through Friday.

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.
◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-McGill staff
◆Bea◆ties and Bowties — Beauties and Bowties building fund will be 5 p.m. June 16 at Liberty Church House of God.
◆New St. Mark Chrch 63 Anniversary— The New St. Mark Church family would like to invite you to their 63rd Church Anniversary on May 27 at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Elder Donald Koonce, pastor of Victory Temple C.O.G.I.C.
◆Mt. Zion M.B.C. Memorial Day Service— Mt. Zion M.B.C. Sturgis will celebrate their annual Memorial Day service May 20 at 11:30 a.m. All former members and friends please come to help celebrate.
◆Male Chorus Celebration— Pleasant Grove Pools M.B. Church will host their Male Chorus Celebration at 2:30 p.m. on June 10.
◆Ann◆al Usher Board Program— NewBellZion U. M. Church located on Hwy 25 South Bypass will be having their Annual Usher Board Program on June 3 at 3 p.m. The guest speaker will be Minister Mary Frazier of Boyd Chapel U. M. Church in Sturgis. ◆Ann◆al Usher Ministry Program— First Baptist Pheba Church will celebrate its annual Usher Ministry Program at 3 p.m. June 10. The guest speaker will be Rev. Julius Neal, pastor of New St. Peter M.B. Church in West Point, and singing will be by New St. Peter Adult Choir. Everyone is invited to attend.
◆123 Church Anniversary & Mortgage Burning Service — The Josey Creek M. B. Church will celebrate it's 132nd Year Anniversary & Mortgage Burning Service on Sunday, May 27, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Dr. Charlie F. Barnes, Sr., will be the guest preacher.
◆ Bible Courses — Mississippi State School of Ministry will be offering degreegranting Bible courses beginning on Sept. 3. For information, call 662-245-1698
◆ SHS Class of 1978 Reunion — The SHS class of 1978 is planning their 40th class re-union. Initial plans entail a reception at The Courtyard Marriott, 7:30 p.m. on Friday, June 29th, 2018. Saturday activities are still being planned. ◆ Prayer Center International—The group will meet every first and third Sundays of the month from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
◆ Walking Trail—Adaton United Methodist Church has established a quarter-mile walking/jogging trail near the church, located at 303 Reed Road., West-Starkville. The path is accessible daily from dawn to dusk. No pets or wheeled vehicles allowed on the trail
◆ Prayers with the Songs of Taize— Prayers with the Songs of Taizé is held at the Episcopal Church of the Resurrection the first Sunday of each month at 6 p.m. The service includes candlelight, singing, prayers, readings, periods of silence, and lasts about 45 minutes
◆ Starkville Healing Rooms—Starkville Healing Rooms meets from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on Mondays at the Sportsplex. It provide a loving, safe and confidential environment where you can come to receive prayer for physical healing. No appoinment necessary. Call 662-418-5596 or e-mail info@worldaflameministries.org.
◆ Community call-in prayer service—The Peter's Rock Temple COGIC will sponsor a callin prayer service for those in need on Saturdays from 9 a.m. - noon and Sundays 9 - 11 a.m. Leave your name, number and prayer request and the Prayer Team will contact you. Call 662-615-4001
◆ Grief Support Group— Grief Support Group meets at First United Methodist Church in the Ladies Parlor on the first floor on the second Thursday of each month from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Call 662-312-0245 for more information, if needed
