The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Rotary — The Starkville Rotary Club meets at 11:45 a.m. at the Starkville Country Club
◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employability Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆ Adult Literacy/GED/ Diploma classes — Earn your High School Equivalency for ages 16 and older on Monday - Thursday 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center, 700 Long Street. Tempe O’Nan will be the Instructor.
◆ Anger Management classes — Anger management classes will be Mondays 9:30 A.M.-11:00 P.M at the Golden Triangle Planning and Development. Gayle Glenn will be the Facilitator.
◆ Work Keys Info Session and Practice — Key To Finding Gainful Employment for ages 16 and Older on Monday-Thursday 8:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at J.L. King Center. Tempe O’Nan will be the Facilitator.
◆ Family Life Skills Training — Laundry Love Ladies on Mondays at 10:00 A.M.-12:00 P.M.at the J.L. King Center. Cindy Melby will be the Facilitator.
◆ Grandparents Raising Grandchildren — Grandparents Raising Grandchildren program will be every Monday at 10:30-11 a.m. at Emerson Family Care Center.
◆Comp◆ter classes— Computer classes will be Mondays from 1:30 P.M.2:30 P.M. at the J.L. King Center. Hakran Kim will be the Facilitator.
◆Starkville Duplicate Bridge— Starkville Duplicate Bridge, 12:30 on Monday. ACBL sanctioned game. St. Luke Lutheran Church, 704 S. Louisville Street. All level of players welcome. Questions, 662-425-0075.
◆SPL Friends of the Library Book Sale— The Starkville Public Library’s Friends of the Library monthly book sale will be held June 4 from Noon-6 p.m. All ‘Sales Room’ paperback books will be 50 cents and the Children’s books will be 25 cents unless otherwise marked. All ‘Any Time Room’ books will be 25 cents. As always a large collection of both hardback and paperbacks will be available at nominal prices.

Church a casserole kitchen every Tuesday and Thursday at 6 p.m.
◆Healthy Living Classes— Healthy Living classes will be on Tuesdays from 10:45 A.M.-12:00 P.M. at Emerson Family School. Gayle Glenn will be the Facilitator.
◆Active Parenting Classes— Active Parenting classes will be every Tuesday at 11 a.m.-noon at Emerson Family Center. Darlene Hinton will be the facilitator.
◆Starkville Kiwanis— Kiwanis will meet June 5 at the Hilton Garden Inn. at noon. The speaker will be Dr. Brent Fountain, MSU Extension Service on Summer outdoor cooking and food safety
◆Emerson Childbirth Classes— Emerson Family Resource Center offers free childbirth classes in June. From 5:30-7:30 p.m. June 5 Nadia McClelland, La Leche League Leader, will discuss parent/infant bonding and breastfeeding. Call Emerson at 320-4607 to register. Free childcare and snacks provided.

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrection hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.
◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the ParkerMcGill staff
◆Company Reunion - American Bosch, AMBAC, United Technologies, Johnson Electric and former employers to have a reunion and lunch, beginning 10:30 until 1 p.m. June 2 at Ranch House Diner at 807 Alabama St., Columbus.
◆Healthy Wealthy and Wise Health Fair — Healthy Wealthy and Wise Health Fair presented by Alpha Kappa Alpha, Inc. will be 10 a.m.-2 p.m. June 2 at the Starkville Sportsplex featureing free screenings and giveaways and a free onsite health class with Jennifer Graham at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
◆COCO Awards Program— 34th Annual awards program will be June 2 at the COCO Center at 6 p.m. Donors will be honored, and the Irene and David Rogers memorial scholarship recipients will be awarded. Two $500 scholarships will be given to graduating high school seniors. Starkville High School JROTC will post the colors. The program is open to the public.

2. A picnic style lunch will take place at 11:30 a.m. at the FBC Outreach Center. An evening dinner and program will be held at the Mill at 6 p.m. with tours of SHS, MSU athletic facilities, Mitchell Memorial Library and the Oktibbeha County Heritage Museum.
