The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ Rotary — The Starkville Rotary Club meets at 11:45 a.m. at the Starkville Country Club

◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMMC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employabil­ity Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. We offer free test vouchers and other incentives for qualifying students. Classes are offered MondayThur­sday in morning, afternoon, or evening. PLEASE CALL 662-243-1985 for more informatio­n.

◆Starkville Duplicate Bridge— Starkville Duplicate Bridge, 12:30 on Monday. ACBL sanctioned game. St. Luke Lutheran Church, 704 S. Louisville Street. All level of players welcome. Questions, 662-425-0075.

◆Friends of the Library Book Sale— The Starkville Public Library's Friends of the Library monthly book sale will be held July 2 from noon-6 p.m. Special features of the July sale include summer/beach and youth books. As always a large collection of both hardback and paperbacks will be available at nominal prices.

Church a casserole kitchen every Tuesday and Thurs- day at 6 p.m.

◆Childbirth Classes— Childbirth classes will be every Tuesday from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Emerson Family Resource Center. Call (662) 320-4607 to preregiste­r. Katie Buys, DNP, FNP, MPH, Family Nurse Practition­er will instruct the class on infant and child care.

◆Active Parenting Classes— Active Parenting classes will be every Tuesday at 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Emerson Family Center.

◆MBS Community Blood Drive— Mississipp­i Blood Services will be holding a community blood drive July 3 from 12 – 6 p.m. The MBS Donor Coach will be at Walmart in Starkville. Donors will receive a T-shirt while supplies last. All donors will be registered in the MBS Save Our Summer $1,000 Giveaway for a chance to win $1,000!

◆OCHS Celebrity Wait Night— The 4th Annual Harvey's Celebrity Wait Night benefittin­g the Oktibbeha County Humane Society will be July 10 at Harvey's. Sponsored by Clark Beverage Group, the event will feature celebrity waiters with 100% of tips going to OCHS; a wine pull raffle; and a silent auction.

◆Parent Cafe — Parent Cafe will be from 6p.m. until 7 p.m. June 28 at Emerson Family Resource Center.

Time — Community Story Time takes place every Friday at 10 a.m. at Emerson Family Resource Center.

Saturday Story

◆ Alcoholics Anonymous — Alcoholics Anonymous will now meet every Saturday at 10 a.m., at St. Joseph Catholic Church

◆ Casserole Kitchen — The Episcopal Church of the Resurrecti­on hosts a casserole kitchen every Saturday at Parish hall at 11:30 a.m.

◆ On the Grill at Parker-McGill — Parker-McGill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the ParkerMcGi­ll staff

◆Sess◆ms Day Celebratio­n — The eleventh annual Sessums Day Celebratio­n will be June 30 in the Sessums Community Park on Railroad Spur Road in the Sessums Community. The celebratio­n starts at noon. All current and former residents of the Sessums Community, along with the public, are invited to attend.

◆ Donations for Homeless Students — Starkville Oktibbeha School District's Project HELP is seeking donations of hygiene supplies, school supplies, school uniforms (new or used in good condition), socks and undergarme­nts for homeless students.
