EMCC to hold softball tryouts

SCOOBA – East Mississipp­i Community College will hold open softball tryouts on Tuesday, July 10, on the Scooba campus.

Under the guidance of first-year head softball coach Austin McNair, EMCC's upcoming softball tryout session is open to unsigned 2018 high school seniors with NJCAA eligibilit­y remaining. Interested players are encouraged to contact McNair (jmcnair@eastms.edu or 662-476-5043) for additional informatio­n. Tryouts are scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. at the EMCC Softball Field with registrati­on beginning at 5:30 p.m.

A $20 tryout fee per player is required and participan­ts are asked to bring their own softball equipment to EMCC's tryout session, including gloves, cleats, bats and helmets. Catchers are asked to bring their own catching gear as well.
