Starkville LL bounces back for win
HATTIESBURG – Following a heartbreaking loss on Monday night to begin the Little League Baseball Mississippi state tournament, the Starkville Little League Mississippi Majors came back with authority on Tuesday.
Facing off against Natchez in an elimination game, Starkville blew through for a 30-1 victory to stay alive. The victory came after Starkville was just shy of making the winner's bracket the previous night. After leading 8-6 against Hattiesburg in the fifth, Starkville gave up multiple errors with two outs on the way to six-straight runs to trail 12-8 heading to the sixth. Starkville scored two runs in that frame but left the bases loaded and fell by two runs.
Now that they're back on track, the Majors still have work to do before they can punch their ticket to Waco, Texas and the Southwest Region Tournament. The Majors face Hattiesburg again tonight at 6 p.m.
A win tonight puts the Majors in the championship round with Meadville and they must win two games to advance on to Waco. Major League Baseball
