The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@ starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆Street Renaming Ceremony — West Main Community Associatio­n has worked to get one of the streets in their neighborho­od renamed for one of the residents who is a World War II veteran and was recently named as an Honorary Tuskegee Airman. The street will be renamed to Roosevelt Taylor Sr. Dr. and the ceremony will be July 19 at 10 a.m. in front of his home at 103 Beattie St.
