Anne May­field Strick­land

Anne May­field Strick­land, 81, of El­lisville, died on Tues­day, July 17, in Colum­bus. Born in Hat­ties­burg, Anne grew up in Tay­lorsville, at­tended Jones County Ju­nior Col­lege, and was a grad­u­ate of the Univer­sity of South­ern Mis­sis­sippi where she earned bach­e­lor's and mas­ter's de­grees. She was a mem­ber of First Bap­tist Church of El­lisville.

She is sur­vived by her hus­band, W. Ran­dolph Strick­land, of El­lisville; her son, John Forde (Con­nie), of Starkville; grand­sons, John David Forde (Sofia), of Ocean Springs, and Daniel Forde (Laura), of Ridge­land; great-grand­daugh­ters, Is­abella and Emma Forde, of Ocean Springs; step­daugh­ter, Beverly Clark (Brock), of Ocean Springs; grand­chil­dren, Lind­sey and Tyler Parker, of Ocean Springs, and Anna and Hayes Strick­land, of The Wood­lands, Texas; and sis­ter, Carol Von Miller (Walt), of Hick­ory, North Carolina.

Vis­i­ta­tion will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Fri­day, July 20, at the El­lisville Fu­neral Home, 1204 B Av­enue, in El­lisville. Ad­di­tional vis­i­ta­tion is sched­uled for 10-11 a.m. and the fu­neral for11 a.m. on Satur­day at First Bap­tist Church in El­lisville, with the Rev. Randy Turner of­fi­ci­at­ing. Burial will fol­low im­me­di­ately at El­lisville Ceme­tery. Pall­bear­ers will be Brock Clark, Wayne Folkes, Randy Moore, Tyler Parker, Chris Ri­ley, and Jim Wal­ley. Honorary pall­bear­ers will be Charles Blackwell, Ter­rell Tisdale, and Ron White­head.

In lieu of flow­ers, the fam­ily has re­quested that memo­ri­als be made to the Anne Strick­land Dis­placed Home­mak­ers Schol­ar­ship, Jones County Ju­nior Col­lege Foun­da­tion, Inc., 900 South Court Street, El­lisville, MS 39437.
