Anne Mayfield Strickland, 81, of Ellisville, died on Tuesday, July 17, in Columbus. Born in Hattiesbur­g, Anne grew up in Taylorsvil­le, attended Jones County Junior College, and was a graduate of the University of Southern Mississipp­i where she earned bachelor's and master's degrees. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Ellisville.

She is survived by her husband, W. Randolph Strickland, of Ellisville; her son, John Forde (Connie), of Starkville; grandsons, John David Forde (Sofia), of Ocean Springs, and Daniel Forde (Laura), of Ridgeland; great-granddaugh­ters, Isabella and Emma Forde, of Ocean Springs; stepdaught­er, Beverly Clark (Brock), of Ocean Springs; grandchild­ren, Lindsey and Tyler Parker, of Ocean Springs, and Anna and Hayes Strickland, of The Woodlands, Texas; and sister, Carol Von Miller (Walt), of Hickory, North Carolina.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 20, at the Ellisville Funeral Home, 1204 B Avenue, in Ellisville. Additional visitation is scheduled for 10-11 a.m. and the funeral for11 a.m. on Saturday at First Baptist Church in Ellisville, with the Rev. Randy Turner officiatin­g. Burial will follow immediatel­y at Ellisville Cemetery. Pallbearer­s will be Brock Clark, Wayne Folkes, Randy Moore, Tyler Parker, Chris Riley, and Jim Walley. Honorary pallbearer­s will be Charles Blackwell, Terrell Tisdale, and Ron Whitehead.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorials be made to the Anne Strickland Displaced Homemakers Scholarshi­p, Jones County Junior College Foundation, Inc., 900 South Court Street, Ellisville, MS 39437.
