Mississippi State University held another input session for its strategic plan Wednesday, Feb. 13, allowing faculty, students and staff to offer input on the plan.

The university has been working to update the plan since the beginning of the academic year, with the last updates being made official in 2012. The updates will go into the State of Excellence Strategic Plan for 2019 through 2025, after being approved by the MSU Office of the President and a committee. Input can also be provided online until the plan goes to be approved.

In addition to being on site to hear input from the university community, Assistant Voice President of Academic Affairs Intern Jason Lueg also explained some of the changes and amendments. Most of the changes are for the purpose of uniformity and clarity.

“We've got to look at this document holistically, and to some degree the previous version didn't really have that,” Lueg said. “That's what this suggested edit is. I want to reemphasize what a said before. This is the 20th meeting. All 20 meetings have vetted the exact same version. We didn't think it was accurate or fair to edit between.”

He encouraged members of the university community to report any issues they saw in the plan.

“We might not have caught it yet,” Lueg said.

The deadline for members of the university community to suggest edits is midnight on Feb. 28.
