The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announcements should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkvilledailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publication and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMCC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employability Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆ 9th Annual Dog Paddle August 10 - Bring your dogs to swim at the Moncrief Park Pool from 9 AM Noon. This fun pool party for dogs is a fundraiser for the Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS). Proceeds benefit the OCHS Second Chance Fund. $30 registration fee includes admission for 1 dog, 1 t-shirt and accompanying human(s) get in free. Additional dogs $10 each. Additional t-shirts $15.
