The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. Announceme­nts should be submitted via e-mail to life@starkville­dailynews.com by 2 p.m. the day prior to publicatio­n and be no more than 50 words in length. Religious events will be listed Saturdays on the Faith page. Recurring events will run on Sundays only. One-time events will run Monday through Friday.

◆ EMCC Launch Pad — EMCC Launch Pad offers free classes in Adult Education, Workkeys Prep, ACT Prep, Employabil­ity Skills Training, and Basic Skills Training. ◆ 9th Annual Dog Paddle August 10 - Bring your dogs to swim at the Moncrief Park Pool from 9 AM Noon. This fun pool party for dogs is a fundraiser for the Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS). Proceeds benefit the OCHS Second Chance Fund. $30 registrati­on fee includes admission for 1 dog, 1 t-shirt and accompanyi­ng human(s) get in free. Additional dogs $10 each. Additional t-shirts $15.
