Website ranks MUW nursing program top in state
Mississippi University for Women's RN to BSN program was recently ranked at the top among other programs in the state, according to an online publishing group.
The Columbus-based college announced earlier this month that Registerednursing.org ranked school's online Rn-to-bsn program no. 1 in the “2019 Best Online RN to BSN Programs in Mississippi.”
Dr. Tammie Mccoy, dean of the College of Nursing and Health Sciences, said the school is pleased to have the program recognized as number one in the state.
“The ranking takes note of the fact that the faculty and staff continue to be dedicated to maintaining the highest academic standards while assisting each individual student,” she said. “The program takes pride in making the transition to a BSN degree as seamless as possible for the working nurse.”
According to the rankings, “The Mississippi University for Women's online RN-TO-BSN program gives licensed registered nurses a trusted, tested way to accelerate their careers.”
MUW was also recognized for “excellence, affordability and the online format of the program while also highlighting that clinical experiences are woven into the online curriculum for immediate absorption by students.”
The site analyzed nursing programs accreditation, online options, tuition and fees and graduation rates to establish the rankings.
MUW said the RN/ BSN Advanced Placement Option is designed for the working registered nurse who is interested in a flexible learning option to obtain a baccalaureate degree. The school offers both a partial distance option and total distance option based on the student's needs. The RN/BSN Advanced Placement Option is housed at The MUW Tupelo Campus.
