The Around Town calendar is a free service offered by the Starkville Daily News. The calendars runs daily as space allows. ◆ OCH Wellness Connection to Offer Tai Chi Classes - The Wellness Connection at OCH Regional Medical Center will offer an eight-week Tai Chi course on Tuesdays beginning August 6 from 5:15 – 6:30 p.m. A form of moving meditation, Tai Chi emphasizes slow, gentle movements with deep breathing and meditation to relax the body and quiet the mind. The class will be led by Dr. Armando de la Cruz and will involve a variety of styles to help improve physical and mental well-being. ◆ On the Grill at Parker-mcgill — Parker-mcgill Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram will host a weekly “On the Grill” every Saturday. Free food will be provided and visitors can meet the Parker-mcgill staff.

◆ 9th Annual Dog Paddle August 10 - Bring your dogs to swim at the Moncrief Park Pool from 9 AM - Noon. This fun pool party for dogs is a fundraiser for the Oktibbeha County Humane Society (OCHS). Proceeds benefit the OCHS Second Chance Fund. $30 registrati­on fee includes admission for 1 dog, 1 t-shirt and accompanyi­ng human(s) get in free. Additional dogs $10 each. Additional t-shirts $15. Spectators fee $5 minimum donation (human only, no dog). Pre-register your dog before August 10 at www.ochsms.org/ event/dogpaddle2­019 to save $5.
