10th annual dog paddle calls for sponsors

- SDN Staff Report

Oktibbeha County Humane Society is calling for sponsors for its 10th annual Dog Paddle. Normally held at Moncrief park pool, this year, the annual fundraiser for the animal shelter will be held virtually, with photos and social media posts highlighting the area’s four legged friends.

In another change, the one day event is being extended for an entire week. Set for Aug. 2429, the Dog Paddle will help support the shelter and the shelter pets, while showcasing the splashing, swimming and water fun of animals throughout Oktibbeha County.

The humane society raised more than $8,000 last year for its Second Chance Fund, which provides non-routine medical care such as heartworm treatment and surgeries to pets who need extra care, and the shelter is looking to meet or exceed that goal this year.

More information about the

event itself is set to be released Aug. 21; however the deadline for sponsorships is this Friday, Aug. 14.

Two sponsorship levels are available. Ripple sponsors, starting at $100, will have their logo printed on the Dog Paddle t-shirts sold during the event, as well as included in OCHS social media posts. Wave sponsorships, which start at $250, will have their logo prominently featured on the t-shirt and will have their business or organization featured on social media.

Sponsorship checks can be made out to Oktibbeha County Humane Society and mailed to OCHS, P.O. Box 297, Starkville, MS 39760, and a vectorized, high resolution (300 dpi) logo emailed to KAREN4OCHS@ yahoo.com.

More information about the 10th annual Dog Paddle, including how to register pups for the event, will be announced Aug. 21.
