Dorothy (Dot) Leggett Milner died on January 17, 2021. She was born on October 17, 1934 in Hattiesbur­g, Mississipp­i.

She grew up in a number of locations in Mississipp­i, SC, and Florida due to her father’s business. Graduated from Gulfport High School and while attending Mississipp­i State University she met and later married Robert C Milner in Hattiesbur­g. Their entire married life was spent in Starkville where her husband was employed at Mississipp­i Seed Improvemen­t Associatio­n of MSU.

Dot received her BS and MS degrees from MSU. She pursued several career activities. She worked for a number of years with the Computer Center at MSU and later she worked for an attorney as a legal assistant. She worked the remainder of her working life in real estate, where she retired.

She was preceded in death by her parents Elwin and Marjorie (Baker) Leggett.

She was survived, in addition to her husband, by her brother Jerry Leggett of Colorado Springs, CO, and her nephews and their families which she adored very much, Mark Leggett (Jill) of Jacksonvil­le, FL, Marine Lt. Col. Joel (Candice) Leggett of Stafford, Virginia, and Jonathan (Christi) Leggett of Huntsville, Alabama.

She was a member of Meadowview Baptist Church in Starkville. She dearly loved her church family and especially the children of the church.

Dot was a true MSU sports fan and she truly loved boxer dogs, which at certain times she bred, trained, and showed in a number of dog shows.

Due to the coronaviru­s situation, there will be a private family graveside service at Howland Cemetery in Hattiesbur­g.
