New Glo headquarters brings new light back to Downtown
Glo is a Starkville based company that creates new fun ways for children to learn, and not only are they bringing light to children, they are bringing a new light back to Starkville that has been out for quite some time.
Glo founders Hagan Walker and Anna Barker are bringing the new headquarters to Downtown Starkville in the restored Rex Theater after partnering with Castle Properties and the Starkville Masonic Lodge last year to revamp the building on the corner of East Main Street and South Washington Street.
“From a business standpoint, we really wanted to stay in Starkville because of our attachment to the community and our vision for helping revitalize the downtown area,” said Walker. “The building has everything we need and so much more — it’s a dream come true for us. Being part of a small town is something we love.”
Both Walker and Barker created Glo together while working on a project at Mississippi State University’s Center for Entrepreneurship and Outreach. The final product was Glo Pals, which are sensory bath toys that light up when they are immersed in liquid.
“We’ve always wanted to make creative products that brighten lives and help children and families in meaningful ways,” said Barker. “Our
new home in the Rex Theater provides room for future growth as well as a beautiful and inspiring environment for our employees.”
The new home at the Rex Theater will give Glo plenty of space for production, administration, marketing and everything a successful business could possibly need.
The creators have also recently gotten a deal with Sesame Workshop to make Glo Pals out of the fan favorite Elmo from Sesame Street and Julia who is the first Muppet to canonically have autism. These two fun new Glo Pals will debut in April for National Autism Acceptance Month.
Glo will officially move in to the Rex Theater on Tuesday, March 2.
