The following is a collection of wise sayings that I have collected from people that I know to share with graduating seniors. I have produced for those seniors a little book that I give to each at our graduate recognitio­n service. In this digital age, I doubt many of those High School Graduates read the paper. I did think, however, that many of you might enjoy them also. With each saying I have included a biblical passage that supports the truth of the statement. The wisdom within comes from people like you. Let's all agree to keep living and learning.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understand­ing; in all your ways acknowledg­e Him and he will direct your paths Pro. 3:5-6

~Take care of the little things and the big things will take care of themselves. Life is often about managing the little things. Big problems are usually the result of little things neglected. Prov. 24:30-34, Song of Solomon 2:15, Mt. 5:21

~Be a part of the solution; complainin­g is easy. James 5:9, Phil. 2:14, Eph. 4:29

~In the end, we are defined by our habits. Gal. 6:7, Mt. 7:16-19

~Be an overcomer, not a victim. Victims accumulate excuses; overcomers accumulate character. Phil. 4:13, Gen.3:12-13, Phil.3:12-14

~Pursue wisdom above knowledge. Knowledge without wisdom is useless and can be dangerous. Prov. 1:1-7, Prov. 2:1-6

~A companion of fools suffers harm. Endeavor to be neither the companion nor the fool. 1Cor. 15:33, Prov. 13:20. Ps.1:1-2

~Be careful of what you truly treasure in life. Mt.6:1921. Mt. 6:33.

If a man will not work, he shall not eat. 2Thess. 3:10

~Once a task is first begun, finish not until it's done. Be the task great or small, do it well or not at all. Prov. 6:6-11

~An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Prov. 12:15, Lk. 14:28-30

~If you do not have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over? Col. 3:23

~Don't put off until tomorrow what you should do today; “Due tomorrow” does not mean “do tomorrow.” Prov. 13:4, Prov. 6:6-10, Prov. 20:4
