Orientation welcomes newest W students

- For Starkville Daily News Orientation Dates:

COLUMBUS, Miss— Students enrolling at Mississippi University for Women in the fall are invited to attend orientation to register for class and tour campus.

“New student orientation at The W sets the foundation for our students to thrive during their time here. Between the staff, orientation leaders and faculty, everyone involved is truly here to set our new students up for academic and personal success. Orientation is a great way to meet staff and faculty, become more comfortable with campus and connect with other new students,” said Libby Fields, first year experience coordinator.

The in-person orientation sessions provide students opportunities to interact with different offices on campus including Housing and Residence Life, Student Life, Student Success Center and Financial Aid.

Orientation leaders are trained and ready to help first time freshmen and transfer students get to know each other and The W. Campus tours will be available, as well as tours of residence halls. Students will be advised and leave with a class schedule.

Before attending an orientation session, enrolling students ensure that their final transcript(s) are submitted to the Office of Admissions and immunization records are sent to the Campus Health Center.

Students are allowed to bring one guest to orientation. Sessions are planned for families and guests to help them become more familiar and comfortable with The W. All new students must complete either in person or online orientation prior to registering for campus (RN to BSN students do not have to complete orientation).
