Name: Penny Sheehan

Company name: Campbell & Rosemurgy Real Estate Originally from: London, then lived in Toronto for 30 years prior to moving to South Florida

Current home: I’ve lived in the Deer Creek community of Villa D’Este in Deerfield Beach for the past 33 years.

How long in real estate? 28 years, 25 of those with Campbell & Rosemurgy Real Estate.

What made you get into real estate? Following 21 years as a nurse and manager of medical practice, I owned and ran the largest secretarial service in Toronto for 17 years. After my move to South Florida in the late 1980s, becoming an active Realtor was a natural progression. What separates you from other Realtors? I personally accompany prospective buyers to every showing. No lock boxes for me; I want to make sure all the features of the property are brought to the attention of each prospective buyer. Known for following up with the buyers and sellers after the closing, on many occasions I have assisted with out-of-town moving arrangements. My sincere concern for my customers’ needs accounts for my many repeat customers and referrals. Today some of my customers are third generation. Which neighborhoods/ areas are your specialties? Frequently referred to as the Deer Creek Specialist, I amthoroughly familiar with all the subdivisions in Deer Creek, having specialized in this area for 25 years. I also handle oceanfront properties as well as other fine homes throughout Deerfield Beach, Boca Raton, Fort Lauderdale and surrounding communities. Describe your working style: My working style can best be described as “flat out.” I am known for tireless dedication to providing my customers with the best, most personal real estate services available. I am always available, day and night, seven days a week. What advice do you have for buyers? For those who are thinking of buying a home, there couldn’t be a better time to start looking because there are many fine properties currently on the market. I advise buyers to ask specific questions during the showing, not only about the property, but also about the neighborhood and the area. A knowledgeable Realtor will have all the answers. What advice do you have for sellers? My No. 1 piece of advice to sellers is select a Realtor you trust, one who knows your neighborhood and has a proven track record selling homes in your area. Deciding on the right price is also very important and is another reason for finding the Realtor who knows the most about the property values in your neighborhood. Finally, I advise sellers to be prepared to show at all times and to plan to leave the house during all showings. As I always tell my sellers, “When I show, you go!” How does what you’ve learned about real estate help your clients? The vast knowledge acquired during 28 years selling properties in the Deerfield Beach area represents a major advantage for buyers and sellers alike. Having concentrated on Deer Creek for 25 years, I know all the neighborhoods and properties like the proverbial “back of my hand.” I have literally sold many Deer Creek properties two and three times. This intimate knowledge of Deer Creek means I can “cut to the chase” bringing to my customers the buyers who are most likely to buy their property. What professional accomplishment makes you the most proud? I am extremely proud of the fact that my very successful real estate business is based almost entirely on repeat and referral customers. Are you involved in any charitable organizations? A longtime supporter of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, I sponsored the St. Jude Golf Tournament at Deer Creek Golf Club for eight years. I also support the Deerfield Beach branch of the Florida Humane Society. What’s one thing people would be surprised to know about you? People might be surprised to know that, having grown up in London during WWII (1939-43), I experienced the bombing of London during those years. It is also surprising that I have had so many professional careers. Campbell & Rosemurgy broker Jim Heidisch says, “The most surprising thing of all about Penny is, despite her incredibly busy schedule, she always remembers to send birthday and anniversary greetings to her friends.” CALL Penny Sheehan, Campbell & Rosemurgy Real Estate, (954) 422-1705 (office) or (954) 415-4560 (cell) • VISIT Penny Sheehan. com
