A panel of judges known as the Feline Arts Council narrowed down the entries from about 100 to five, according to the company’s community manager, Rebecca Boston. “Theywere impressive entries,” she said.

With the help of friends, D’Antoni shot the video in her kitchen, with three cameras anda cast consisting of hertwocats, Santino and Sammy, and dog Louie. The storyline: Sammy is intrigued by the smell of cooking fish and devises a plan to distract the dog with yarn that the human character gets entangled in. Hijinks ensue and the dog gets blamed for the incident.

Were she to win, what would she do with the prize money?

“I’m going to plan on buying extra equipment to film future projects,” said D’Antoni, who works as a director at Downtown Loft Studio in Fort Lauderdale and also runs her own company, Leprika Productions.

“And I love animals, so I’ll donate a portion to them.”
