One sur­vives af­ter two are pulled from ocean in Miami Beach

A woman died af­ter Miami Beach Ocean Res­cue pulled her and an­other woman out of choppy wa­ters on Sun­day af­ter­noon.

The other woman re­mained in crit­i­cal con­di­tion at Mount Si­nai Med­i­cal Cen­ter, ac­cord­ing to Miami Beach po­lice spokesman Ernesto Ro­driguez.

Ocean Res­cue pulled the swim­mers out at 53rd Street and the beach and im­me­di­ately be­gan CPR.

Both were in car­diac ar­rest.

It was not clear what caused the swim­mers to go un­der.

“The wa­ter has been rough all day, but we don’t know if that was a con­tribut­ing fac­tor,” Ro­driguez said.
