Alex Rodriguez hit his 661st career home run Thursday night to pass Willie Mays for fourth on the all-time list in the host Yankees’ 4-3 win over the Orioles

He hit a liner off Chris Tillman into a secure area just to the left of Monument Park in center field in the third inning to give the Yankees a 3-2 lead.

Mark Teixeira’s RBI double in the fifth put the Yankees ahead for good and kept Nathan Eovaldi (3-0) undefeated in six starts.

Pirates 7, Reds 2: Starling Marte and Chris Stewart each drove in two to back A.J. Burnett, who pitched seven innings, as the Pirates ended a five-game skid. Rangers 5, Rays 4: Elvis Andrus had a two-run single in a four-run second as the Rangers won their fourth straight. Kevin Kiermaier homered for the Rays. Padres at Diamondbac­ks: The Padres ended a 22-inning scoreless streak with a five-run third in Wednesday’s 9-1 victory over the Giants. Astros at Angels: Astros starter Collin McHugh (4-0, 3.41) owned MLB’s longest unbeaten streak at 15 starts. The Angels had won eight of nine home meetings. Marlins at Giants: Tim Hudson started for the Giants, who had won eight of nine at home. The Marlins had dropped three of four after a 9-1 stretch.
