To run in March, now’s the time to file your paperwork
The arrival of the new year means elections are officially getting underway in seven Broward County municipalities.
The period for candidates to file their qualifying papers with their city, town or village clerk runs from noon Jan. 4 until noon Jan. 11 for the March 15 elections, which are being held at the same time as the state’s presidential preference primaries.
Elections are scheduled for Davie, Hillsboro Beach, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea, Lazy Lake, Pembroke Pines and Sea Ranch Lakes. A special election is also scheduled for Oakland Park, to fill the seat vacated by former Commissioner Shari McCartney, who resigned in October.
Mayoral races are on tap in Pembroke Pines, Lauderdale-by-the-Sea and Sea Ranch Lakes.
