Heat’s forward will not appear in playoffs.
TORONTO — Chris Bosh’s season came to a formal conclusionWednesday, with the All-Star forward and the Miami Heat issuing a statement clarifying that he will not be participating in the playoffs.
Bosh has not appeared in a game since Feb. 9 but has been with theHeat during the postseason.
“The Miami Heat and Chris Bosh announce that Chris will not be playing in the remainder of the 2016 NBA playoffs,” the statement read. “The Heat, Chris, the doctors and medical team have been working together throughout this process and will continue to do so to return Chris to playing basketball as soon as possible.”
The announcement issued through the Heat came a day after the National Basketball Players Association issued a statement that it would seek a resolution regardingBosh’s status, withBoshsidelined since mid-February due to a recurrence of blood clots.
Bosh traveled with Heat owner Micky Arison to Toronto for this NBA best-ofseven Eastern Conference semifinal series against the Toronto Raptors, spending time with teammates both during Tuesday’s Game 1 overtime victory in this best-ofseven Eastern Conference semifinal series and then atWednesday’s practice.
