Body found in canal, police say

A female body-was found floating in a canal in Boynton Beach, city police said Sunday.

The body was found about 1:30 p.m. in a canal behind 1000 Coral Court, north of Boynton Beach Boulevard and west of Interstate 95.

Detectives think she drowned accidentally, Officer Jaclyn Smith said in a news release.

Boynton Beach Police were investigating. The name of thewoman has not been released pending notification of next of kin.

No other information was available Sunday afternoon, Smith said.
