■ Diamondbac­ks: An MRI to the shoulder of RHP Zack Greinke showed no structural damage, and manager Chip Hale said Greinke could be available to start next week after all, according to the Arizona Republic. Greinke had been questionab­le to make his final two starts of the season after experienci­ng shoulder stiffness Wednesday. He missed more than amonth before returning Aug. 3, an absence caused by tightness in his left oblique, which was injured during an at-bat in late June.

■ Nationals: 2B Daniel Murphy, diagnosed with a buttocks strain after having an MRI, will remain out of the lineup at least through the weekend. The National League MVP candidate has not

played in the field or run the bases since suffering the injury Sept. 17 against the Braves. Stephen Drew started at second base for the Nationals on Saturday.

■ Red Sox: Manager John Farrell said 3B Pablo Sandoval is progressin­g faster than expected from shoulder surgery and didn’t rule out his return to the team this season if needed. Sandoval underwent surgery to repair a torn labrumin his left shoulder in May and, at the time, the Red Sox said he would make a full recovery in time for the 2017 season. Sandoval, though, reportedly has dropped a significan­t amount of weight since the spring and took batting practice before the Red Sox’s game against the Rays.

■ Royals: OF Paulo Orlando hit a tying, two-run double and DH Eric Hosmer followed with a three-run homer against reliever Francisco Rodriguez, capping a ninth-inning comeback that led the Royals over the Tigers 7-4. RHP Wade Davis pitched a onehit eighth and RHP Kelvin Herrera, the Royals’ seventh pitcher, got three straight outs for his 12th save in 15 chances.

■ Astros: RHP Lance McCullers, who has been on the disabled list since Aug. 3 with an elbow strain, will throw another bullpen in a couple of days after feeling good following one on Thursday, his first since the injury. There still isn’t a timetable for his return.
