Immigrants who arrive illegally have broken law

- Joan Gallo, BocaRaton Claudia Dunne, BocaRaton

This is in reference to the Feb. 24 article about Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz not wanting to support the president’s immigration law.

I am perplexed with Wasserman’s statement that the overwhelming majority of people in the U.S. without documentation are trying to make better lives for their families and have done nothing wrong.

It is illegal to enter into a country without proper documentation. So this fact — not statement — negates her statement that “they have done nothing wrong.” They have entered our country on a lie.

Wasserman Schultz does not speak for all Americans, and she certainly does not speak for all immigrants, especially thosewhohave arrived illegally. The fact is the presidential order is directed at immigrants without documentation who have broken the law. She is manipulating the public tomakeus the enemy; to make Americans seem disingenuous, when in reality we are all decedents of immigrants. The difference is our families came over legally! My father had to be sponsored and have a job.

We Americans welcome everyone who earns the right to be here. Stop lying to the American people. She needs to stop creating drama and start supporting our president. We expect some fair reporting.
