Local officials can do more to guard against sea-level rise
Kudos to Broward County for putting teeth and reality into new regulations on changes to limit damages fromsea-level rise, which is hard upon us.
Miamisuffers frequent highwater insomeof its priciest areas, and Broward’s Sistrunk lowlying areas aswell as coastal impacts are already felt.
I am in Palm Beach County, and though we participate inthe four county compactandhave somegreat plansonthebooks, wehave put little into effect and need to match your efforts so that there is no gap. Delray’sMarina area fixes shine out, but stand mostly alone.
I am pleased to see the complete and complex thinking and efforts, and will again pressure our county ERM offices to show boots on the ground.
