Testing and hiring standards should make more sense

Monday’s article “Parents turn to private schools” was enlightening. While I approve of the assistance to lower income families to give them this option, I cannot understand why, for the life of me, they are not required to have the same standards regarding testing and hiring of certified teachers. Thismakes thewhole idea of options a sham.

In addition, the crooked charter school operatorswhoopena school, suck off public funds for self-enrichment, file bankruptcy and do so again and again under new names are an embarrassment.
