St. Thomas aims for 6th S. Broward hopes to move past last year’s defeat in semifinals state final

St. ThomasAqui­nas’ boyswater polo team hopes to qualify for yet another state championsh­ip.

The Raiders (18-1) have advanced to five straight state finals, earning their only title in 2013.

Parker Strickman, an AllCounty senior and four-year starter for St. Thomas, will be instrument­al for the Raiders heading into the district play, which begins Monday.

Last year Strickman posted 79 goals, 68 assists and 68 steals for St. Thomas, while scoring twice in the state final against reigning champion Miami Belen Jesuit. This season, Strickman leads the Raiders with 44 goals, 35 assists and 47 steals.
