Road signs should be preserved for history Read more letters

- Roberto Fernandez III, Sunrise Sander Poritzky, Weston Mariella Zablah, Miami

I read in the Sun Sentinel recently that street signs for HammondvilleRoad in Pompano Beach are going to be replaced with ones reading Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. I wonder if Broward County and the City of Pompano Beach could donate one of the signs to the Broward County HistoricalCommissionArchive collection at the Main Library and, if possible, perhaps one sign could be donated to the Pompano Beach Historical Society.

Ibelieve thatby preserving these objects we will help future generations remember the agricultural history of Broward County and the contributions of African Americans to that story. SunSentinel.com/opinion/ letters
